YSA Masters in 2015
Report on the First ASA North East Region
Queen Margaret’s School, Escrick was
the venue for the first ASA North East Region Masters
Development Day. 17 swimmers attended and were welcomed
by welcomed by David Alexander, ASA North East Masters
Manager and Christine McCabe, Yorkshire Swimming Association
Masters Secretary. The first session was held in the Gym
with Nick Manning.
This was followed by a pool session led
by Alan Hutchinson and Jon Snaith Lunch followed this session with all
swimmers taking advantage of a health lunch (sorry no
pictures) The first session after lunch was held
in the Lecture Theatre
This was a session on Nutrition led by
Andy Shepherd
This proved to be the most interesting
and even the venue organiser, Alison Ruddick, was impressed.
Sadly due to a comfort break Andy had to cut short some of
his presentation. Next up was the talented ASA Masters
Officer Sharon Lock who had taken an active part in the pool
session.
Apologies for the poor quality of the
picture (taking photos not my best talent). Sharon and Andy
rounded the day off with a Q & A session with most questions
being directed at Sharon. To sum up: a very interesting day with
many plus points and one or two things that can be worked on
for the next Masters Development Day. |
